Santa has executed a hostile take over of the Gorton Fisherman.
Unfortunately, Rudolph's red nose was later mistaken for an enemy submarine, and Santa was torpedoed out of the water.
I had never envisioned the closing scene from John Steinbeck's The Winter of Our Discontent quite this way, but I suppose it is rather fitting.
"Look, dear! I've even remembered the seal meat to stuff the reindeers with after Christmas!"
